The Escondido Art Association is dedicated to promoting fine arts in our community. Through our gallery on Grand Avenue we provide an outlet for our members and other local artists to display their work. We also host demonstrations by local and nationally known artists at our monthly meetings, providing a place for members to learn new techniques and socialize with fellow artists.
The EAA is active in the community of Escondido: hosting shows benefiting local causes, giving scholarships to local high school students, and even showing member artwork in downtown businesses. Anyone with an interest in the visual arts or the desire to support the EAA is welcome as a member! Our gallery, The Artists Gallery, on Grand Avenue in Escondido, is open in the evening during the monthly Second Saturday Artwalk. We focus on representational art in all media. Admission is free and we offer a hosted wine bar and hors d'oeuvres. Come see the art and meet the artists! |

Education & Professional Development:
Each month members are invited to attend the association general meeting, where a recognized local artist will provide a demonstration and art-related lecture. Artists range from all ages and media, so there is constant variety, and these lectures are available to all members of the public free. Members who are art teachers are also encouraged to promote themselves through the Artists Gallery and EAA website, and may rent gallery space for class purposes. Also, members are encouraged to demonstrate or display their artwork during their gallery duty hours, or they may make arrangements to host a one-day trunk show of their own work in the gallery.
Exhibition:
Since the establishment of the Artists Gallery, the Association has offered several exhibition venues to artists, including six open or member-only shows per year, as well as opportunities to sell during downtown events such as Cruisin’ Grand, the Farmers Market, and the Grand Avenue Street Faire Festival. Members may also display their work in local participating businesses through our Art Rotation Program.

Partnering with the Community:
The Association has long fulfilled its commitment to the community of Escondido, and hosts shows displaying the work of students, and disabled artists. The Association and Gallery have also partnered with local establishments such as the Escondido Adult School/ROP Program. This most recent partnership resulted in a show displaying the work of students of the school’s art program, and it gave the students and teachers an opportunity to promote the classes offered by the school.
The Escondido Art Association has been fulfilling its commitment to serve the community since its inception. We believe that the offerings of the association will continue to grow, and along with it the gallery, artist population and associated partners will also thrive. Future services will only be limited by our capacity to imagine.
